Software

More information about the tailor made Isometric Software that works in conjunction with Ultra Stethoscope and the third party Picoscope Software; which is available from Pico Technology.

Isometric software for a period of 6 months is supplied free of charge with a purchase of each Ultra Stethoscope.

Output from the Ultrastethoscope can also be captured and displayed by using PC - based instrumentation and data aquisition produced by Pico Technology, St Neots, Cambridgeshire PE19 8YP.

The traces aim to allow the user to demonstrate any abnormal sounds. The switchable filter on the stethoscope body limits  the sensitivity of the device to unwanted environmental noise [ i.e. that coming from sources such as lighting, heating pipes, refrigerators  and pumps ]. The traces allow comparison of data obtained serially. Careful examination of trace qqq shows that instead of a single peak there are sometimes three close together. In early versions of the stethoscope such traces were common. Investigation showed that these were due to sound reverberation in the conical capture volume and this problem has now been eliminated by careful design changes.

Continually being improved: This is a recording of heart sounds made with an early version of the
Stethoscope before we introduced features to remove the double and triple peaks which
are believed to be artefacts caused by sound reverberations.
